The South African Museum Association (SAMA) is excited to announce the return of its highly sought-after Introduction to Museum Practice: Online Training Programme for 2024. This comprehensive course is designed for individuals passionate about museum work, those interested in expanding their knowledge of museology, or professionals seeking to enhance their skills in the museum and heritage sectors. The Introduction to Museum Practice course covers foundational skills that are vital for understanding the operational undertakings of museums and other cultural institutions. This online course offers participants an opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field while exploring core topics in museology, collections management, exhibitions, and museum education.
The course spans four weeks, with two sessions scheduled for each of the first two weeks, followed by one focused session per week in the latter half of the programme.
