Featured Opportunities & Events for Creatives:

1. Bag Factory: Young Woman Studio Bursary 2025/2026

📅 Deadline: 9 November 2025

A 12-month studio bursary supporting emerging woman/womxn artists under 35, based in South Africa. Recipients gain a studio at the Bag Factory, mentorship, and the chance to exhibit alongside the resident artist community.

2. Constitutional Court Trust (CCT): Curatorial Internship 2026

📅 Deadline: 13 November 2025

A full-time, paid six-month internship (Jan–Jun 2026) at the Constitutional Court of South Africa. Ideal for recent graduates passionate about visual art, heritage, and justice. Work hands-on with the Constitutional Court Art Collection through curatorial support, research, and public engagement.

3. Henrike Grohs Art Award 2026

📅 Deadline: 13 November 2025

One of the continent’s most respected art prizes. Open to contemporary visual artists living and working in Africa. The winner receives €20,000 and €10,000 for a publication on their work. Two runners-up receive €5,000 each.

 

4. ARAK Journal: Call for Submissions — “Constellations of Thought and Feeling”

📅 Deadline: 15 November 2025

ARAK Journal is launching its first issue, Constellations of Thought and Feeling, and invites writers to contribute. You can submit essays in any language, especially about artists in the ARAK Collection. Send a 300-word summary of your idea, selected writers will be paid.

5. Javett-UP: Tlhagella Incubation Programme (2nd Edition)

📅 Deadline: 6 November 2025, 15:00

A professional development programme for emerging, under-represented artists based in Tshwane and surrounding areas. Selected participants receive training, mentorship, and exhibition opportunities, culminating in an April 2026 group show.

 

6. CTIAF: Animation Jam 2025

📅 Event: 28–30 November 2025 | Cape Town & online

A 48-hour animation challenge for creators ready to collaborate, experiment, and build their showreels. Includes industry mentors, workshops, and plenty of creative chaos.

 

 

 

7. LatAm Content Meeting

📅 Deadline: 10 December 2025

Looking for partners or funding for your next documentary? Submit your project to the LatAm Content Meeting pitch sessions, happening 13–15 April in São Paulo, Brazil. The call is open to filmmakers worldwide, with top broadcasters, streamers, and funders attending to discover new stories.

 

8. Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture: Connect & Create

📅 Deadline: 30 November 2025

Funding (30,000–70,000 EUR) for the circulation of African performing arts and music in Africa and Europe. Open to collectives, production houses, and festivals. Projects must be implemented between March 2026 and March 2027.

 

9. S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence Bootcamp 2025

📅 Dates: 4–7 November 2025 | Johannesburg

Hosted by Fak’ugesi Festival, Ars Electronica, and RISC, the bootcamp brings together the ten S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence residents for workshops on AI, creative coding, and art-tech collaboration. Culminates in the ENTROPY Symposium (7 Nov).

 

10. Triggerfish: Talent Pool Applications

📅 Deadline: 7 December 2025, 23:59 SAST

No current openings that fit your skills? No problem. Triggerfish invites creatives, animators, and storytellers to upload their CVs and share their areas of expertise. When a suitable role opens up, the team will get in touch.

 

11. Création Africa: Call for Entrepreneurs

📍Cape Town, Western Cape

A programme supporting and scaling up cultural entrepreneurs in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi. Backed by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of France and the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), it offers mentorship, incubation, training, funding and networking for creatives ready to grow their businesses.

Open to registered entrepreneurs in visual and performing arts, music, film, design, craft, fashion, animation, gaming, digital media, publishing, architecture and cultural heritage.

The programme runs from February to November 2026.

 

 

12. Futures_Past: Open Call for Immersive Artist Teams

📅 Deadline: 9 November 2025, 23:59 SAST

The Embassy of France in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi, together with the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) and Electric South, invites immersive artist teams from South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi to reimagine the future of heritage through digital storytelling.

Selected teams will collaborate with one of six archives — including GALA Queer Archive, Iziko Museums, !Khwa ttu, the Royal Archives of Lesotho, Music Crossroads Malawi and the National Film, Video and Sound Archives — to create new immersive works using technologies such as VR, AR, spatial audio and interactive installations.

Each selected team will receive between R500,000 and R1.2 million in funding, mentorship, production support and international networking opportunities. One team member from each project will travel to France for a professional exchange.
Teams must include at least four members: a director, producer, technologist, and an emerging assistant producer under 30.
